Salvador Santana will release his new album, Keyboard City in early 2010. In an effort to prep the release of the album, we gave his website a bit of a face lift. The Syndicate’s online creative team built the site, helping put together a site that fell in line with Sal’s vision for Keyboard City.

The Syndicate online creative team put together this widget where you can preview clips from the DVD…including the awesome animated short “Your Fuckin’ Outta Here Man”. In addition to the share features and clips, the widget also incorporated the tweets from Mike’s Twitter. Also another feature was added to this widget, and that’s a Facebook app where you can send it to your friends letting them know they are OUTTA HERE!

No, not the holiday break. Intern time!

The Syndicate is beginning its search for interns. Do you live or wish to travel to the NYC area, and want to intern with us for some college credit? Then email us blog@thesyn.com and we’ll put you in touch with our intern coordinator to arrange an interview.

As a marketing and promotion company we offer a lot of different areas you could learn from including, radio promotion and marketing, street marketing, online marketing, web design, and event planning to name a few. Hell, we could even teach you how to bake a pie if we all weren’t such terrible cooks.

All potential interns must be able to earn college credit for their internship, be available 2-3 days a week and be able to work a full work day (10am-6pm). Here are the types of internships we offer.

• Researching information for marketing campaigns
• Recruiting field marketing reps
• Coordinating promotional materials to distributed to field marketing reps
• Help compile weekly newsletters
• Collecting and organizing data for client reports
• Updating our company website and blog
• General office duties: mailings, answering phones, distributing mail etc

Applicants should have:

• A background or keen interest in music, entertainment, lifestyle trends and pop culture
• Ability to multi-task and take direction in a fast-paced environment
• Very strong organizational skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Photoshop. Other computer skills are helpful
• Ability to navigate the internet for research purposes
• Strong writing skills a plus
• Be willing to learn and take direction

• Work with the online team to create assets for clients such as banners, widgets, and eCards
• Editing digital elements to be used for promotional campaigns
• Assisting in the design, layout and creation of client websites
• Maintaining company and client web properties

Required Skills:

• Proficient with Photoshop and Illustrator
• Proficient in HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver
• Knowledge of Flash and Actionscript 2.0/3.0
• Strong typography skills
• Strong organization and attention to detail

Other Helpful Skills:

• Working Knowledge of CMS and Blog software such as Wordpress, Drupal etc.
• Proficiency with PHP and/or ASP.Net coding
• Actionscript 3.0
• CSS coding for MySpace and other Social Networks

Now, to put a nice bow on the end of a great year – which also included a sold out tour across the states – Dane is releasing the DVD companion of the Special. The DVD includes a never before seen interview with the man as well as the entire special, unedited. And it all comes out in time for the holidays.

The band’s latest album Vivarium is available digitally now and will be released via Red Bull Records in the early part of 2010.

Check out this widget that was put together by our online creative team. It features an entirely fan shot video for the band’s song “Old Grey Face.” The band invited everyone out to their show at Studio 24 overseas and asked them to shoot the performance. All of these fan clips where then put together to make a video.

The release of Vivarium is something The Syndicate’ entire team will be a part of in some capacity, street marketing, online street marketing, online publicity, radio, and online creative design. Go Team!

The Syndicate is also handling online publicity outreach as well as utilizing its online street team to support the release.

With Halloween just around the corner and Saw VI out in theaters that day, what better time to throw a metal party? That was the thinking behind the first annual Metal Insider CMJ Listening Party, which took place on Friday, October 23rd at New York’s The Studio at Webster Hall.

With dozens of metal radio DJs and music directors in town for the annual CMJ Music Marathon, the listening party served as an exclusive taste of World Painted Blood, the long-awaited new album from Slayer. In addition, the attendees also got a chance to look at “Playing With Dolls,” a disturbing series of vignettes featuring the music of World Painted Blood that will be featured on the deluxe edition of the album, which will be out on November 3rd. The party also featured a screening of Gallows short film, Grey Britain.

It wasn’t just radio that made it to the party. A number of labels, managers and booking agents made it out, along with bands like Acrassicauda, Anaka, and VH1 Classic’s That Metal Show co-host Don Jamieson. They were able to feast on alcohol courtesy of sponsors Hornitos Tequila and Pabst Blue Ribbon. Each guest was also welcome to have a one-of-a-kind MusicSkins Metal Insider skin for their Blackberry, iPhone or iPod (stay tuned for a chance to win one of your own!).

Some attendees were lucky enough to get a Saw VI shirt courtesy of Lions Gate Films, or books about Anvil and Robert “Freddy Kreuger” Englund courtesy of Simon & Schuster. An even more select group got to win a copy of the first 5 Saw movies. And what better way to celebrate listening to World Painted Blood than with your own tube of Slayer blood. Who’s in for next year?!

On Thursday, October 22, The Syndicate threw a Comedy Central Records Secret Show at Comix NY along with co-presenters The Laugh Button.com. The hot ticket event packed in over 275 CMJ goers and comedy trendsetters for a ton of super late night laughs from up-and-coming Comedy Central Records comedians.

Fellow comedians Eugene Mirman, Judah Friedlander and Jeffrey Ross were also in house to support this collection of new Comedy Central talent.

Complimentary beverages were sipped care of Hornitos Tequila, Brooklyn Brewery and Sonu Water were served through the night. Everyone in attendance was given a special gift bag filled with Comedy Central goodies and other fine treats. Big thanks to Comedy Central CDs and DVDs, Simon & Schuster, Raw Revolution, Screenlife Games and Layrite Pomade.
