Devo Helps Make Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist

Friday, August 15th, 2008

Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist could easily be the Juno of 2008. It has the makings of an indie comedy/romantic fun. Movie adaptation of a popular book, alterna-teens, and a great descriptions like - “Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist is a comedy about two teens thrust together for one hilarious, sleepless night of adventure in a world of mix tapes, late-night living, and, live, loud music.” How can we go wrong with that?

Michael Cera plays Nick, or the same character he always plays - a somewhat sweet and attractive, but overly awkward young Woody Allen type. Nick is a sensitive musician who finds a love interest in Norah (Kat Dennings). Norah plays life safe always, except for tonight of course when she cuts loose with Nick. (more…)

VIDEO: We Are Scientists | “Impatience”

Monday, July 28th, 2008

Keith Murray, frontman for WE ARE SCIENTISTS seems fresh with a new haircut for the band’s new video, “Impatience”. We’re thinking it’s to compensate for the massive amounts of hair bassist Chris Cain gets down with in the vid.

We Are Scientists To Have The Best Week Ever

Friday, June 6th, 2008

WE ARE SCIENTISTS have always taken their comedy very seriously. So it’s pretty much no surprise to anyone they will be making an appearance on VH1’s clip show, Best Week Ever. The band will be one of the commentators on the week probably dishing out some science and dropping some knowledge on the public.

The show debuts Friday, June 6th at 9pm and we’re more than positive there will be repeats all week long. Set The TiVo.

VIDEO: We Are Scientists | “Chick Lit”

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

WE ARE SCIENTISTS have a definite obsession with animals. The artwork from their last album, With Love And Squalor showed the band (then a threesome) and their obsession with kitty-cats. Now it seems the band has turned their obsession to another one of our domesticated, four-legged friends, the dog.

Both videos from their upcoming album, Brain Thrust Mastery have dogs in the main theme of the videos. First we have a blind date with a dalmation on the video for “After Hours” and now the WAS boys are pomeranian wranglers in their latest video for “Chick Lit”.

UPDATE: We Are Scientists Have A Brain Thrust Mastery | Drummer Quits The Band

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

UPDATE: Fresh on the heels of this announcement, the band has issed a statement saying that their drummer Michael Tapper has “relenquished his duties” as the drummer for the band in an effort to persue other things.

WE ARE SCIENTISTS are hitting the road in European this November. Some of the dates by themselves and some as the opening act for Kaiser Chiefs. In addition, they have launched something they are calling a “philanthropic effort” titled the Brain Thrust Mastery. We’re not exactly sure what it is, solo dates? informational seminars? it could be anyone’s guess. They created a website for it and launched an infomercial as well. Only time will tell.
