There’s A Japanese Version Of The Office

Sunday, May 18th, 2008

Since Steve Carrell was the host of Saturday Night Live this weekend we were pretty positive there would be a slew of references to The Office. It came quickly in the show with the launching of the digital short. It featured The Office creator Ricky Gervais introducing the Japanese version of the wildy popular tv show.

Musicsnobery Puts Out Request To The Heavy Hitters For Some Anniversary Party Help

Friday, April 4th, 2008

Musicsnobbery is having a 3 year anniversary party on April 10th at Maxwell’s in NJ. The lineup seemed secured until the recent breakup of the Philly, The Teeth. See, The Teeth were to be the headlining act for the show, and their breakup put a hole in the headlining spot for the show.

After asking 61 area acts to fill the void with no luck, it seems Chris is taking a more drastic approach to the situation. He’s released a video for the audience of just 4 musicians - Moby, Ben Gibbard, Kate Nash, and Win Butler pleading them to consider his show.

It’s a great idea and spoof of the classic SNL skit where the show’s producer Lorne Michaels tried to reunite The Beatles on the air for the bargain basement price of $3,000.

Oh and he’s 100% serious about this! You can get tickets to the party on ticketweb.

Bork! Bork Was On Saturday Night Live

Monday, October 15th, 2007

Beside the FOO FIGHTERS getting the short end of the stick by Bon Jovi this weekend on Saturday Night Live, there was a funny sketch or two in there. This particular one used the Sundance Channel show Iconoclasts as the backdrop for a meeting of the minds of one Charles Barkley and Bjork. Hilarity ensued.

We Thought The Foo Fighters Were The Musical Guests On SNL

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

Even though they were billed as the musical guests on Saturday Night Live, the FOO FIGHTERS only got to play one song rather than the standard two.

It’s weird considering host Jon Bon Jovi who wanted to show off his “acting” skills but ended up performing two songs with the rest of the Jov, leaving the Foos with only one kickass performance. How did they mess that one up?

Watch their performance of “The Pretender” now.

VIDEO: Spoon Kill It On Saturday Night Live

Monday, October 8th, 2007

Earlier we were excited to say that SPOON was to be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live with the host being Seth Rogan. That show aired this weekend and we have to say that they killed it! There was a horn section on hand to give Britt and the boys some help as they tore through “The Underdog” and “You Got Yr Cherry Bomb”, both songs from their latest album Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga.

TRAILER: Hot Rod | Andy Samberg

Sunday, May 6th, 2007

Andy Samberg in Hot RodSNL cast member Andy Samberg and his comedy troupe, The Lonely Island Crew (you know, the guys that wrote “Roy Rules” and “Sloths”) have a new movie due out August 3rd.

It’s called Hot Rod and stars Samberg as a budding “awesome” stunt man trying to help his ill father.

Amateur stuntman Rod Kimble (ANDY SAMBERG) has a problem – his step-father Frank (IAN MCSHANE) is a jerk. Frank picks on Rod, tosses him around like a rag doll in their weekly sparring sessions, and definitely doesn’t respect him, much less his stunts. But when Frank falls ill, it’s up to Rod to stage the jump of his life in order to save his step-father. The plan: Jump 15 buses, raise the money for Frank’s heart operation, and then… kick his ass.

Also staring in the film are Isla Fisher, Jorma Taccone, Bill Hader, Sissy Spacek and Ian McShane.

Peyton Manning, Doin’ It For The Kids

Monday, March 26th, 2007

Did you miss Saturday Night Live this weekend? Well if you did, you happened to miss Peyton Manning, quarterback for the Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts take a stab at sketch comedy.

We have to say, going into the show we were hesitant as to whether the QB would be able to pull it off and for the most part he did. An instant classic that we’re sure you going to see again and again is his spoof of the United Way. Be sure to watch Manning teach the kids about life.
