Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

MARK RONSON has been having a monster year. In addition to being one of the hottest producers of the moment, his album Versions has has not only spent a great deal of time in rotation around the blogosphere (and the real world). Another video from that album has been put out for us to sink our teeth in. “Oh My God” features Lily Allen handling the vocal duties and doing her best Jessica Rabbit imitation as well. For those keeping tabs at home, this is a cover of a Kaiser Chiefs song, (who also make an appearance in the vid).

Lily Allen | Webster Hall, NYC | 2.22.2007

Monday, February 12th, 2007

As I mentioned I would last week, I checked out Lily Allen on Saturday night.Let me start by saying that I went to the show without a ton of expectations. Sure, I was expecting her to be cute and all but in regards to her actual musical performance, I didn’t really expect a whole lot.

At the start of the show, I kind of felt like I was right in not expecting a whole lot. She casually strutted around the front of the stage while her backing band (consisting of three horns, a keyboard player, a bass player, a guitar player and a drummer; all wearing loose-fitting, ugly polo shirts) sat still and played. I was kind of surprised by how luke warm the whole thing was playing out. Then Lily started talking between songs and totally won me over. (more…)

Monday Morning With Lily Allen

Monday, February 5th, 2007

I know everyone and there mom knows about LILY ALLEN. She just performed on Saturday Night Live, she’s written about in pretty much every magazine I’ve opened as of late and she’s already sold something like 7 million records in the UK (give or take 6,700,00.) Who cares? She writes catchy pop songs and she’s cute as all hell.

I’ll be checking her out here in NYC on Saturday at Webster Hall and I’ll be sure to let you all know how it goes. However, in the meantime, make sure to check out her videos for “Smile” and “Alfie”. One involves a puppet that smokes pot and masturbates. Mornin’!
