Friday we got an advance of the new OLD 97’s album, Blame It On Gravity and being longtime fans of the band, we were super-eager to tear through and disect the band’s first set of new tunes in 4 years.

As if that wasn’t enough, later that night, Rhett, Murray, Ken and Philip ended up on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno performing a new song “Dance With Me”. It was almost too much Old 97’s greatness to absorb.

In case you missed it, late night television shows were back on the air beginning last night. With most the major players involved but not all of them seemingly excited about it. Conan O’Brien and David Letterman were sporting beards as a sign of solidarity for their picketing friends in the WGA.

However, Letterman was in a bit of a different situation than most of the other hosts. Since his production company, Worldwide Pants owns Late Show With David Letterman and Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson struck a deal with writers union putting writers back on the job and business as usual. Shows hosted by O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jay Leno are owned by the networks so they were left to the mercy of their own thoughts and some improvisation. (more…)

UPDATE: Earlier this week we had originally reported that Dustin Kensrue had been confirmed to perform on Late Night With Conan O’Brien. This was incorrect information. We’ve learned that he will actually be performing on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on February 15th. Check your local listings for times and channels.
