IdioSYNcratic Routine: What Made Milwaukee Famous

Friday, April 11th, 2008

It’s that time again - IdioSYNcratic Routine is back to mess with your face and appendages. This time, we asked WHAT MADE MILWAUKEE FAMOUS’ drummer, Jeremy Bruch “tough” questions about ridiculous things like food, bat piss (they brought it up, not us), and about one legendary bike riding champion.

Idiosyncratic Routine | Alexandra Patsavas | Founder Chop Shop Records

Friday, March 21st, 2008

We had a chance to catch up with Chop Shop Records founder Alexandra Patsavas. The first release on Chop Shop will be The Republic Tigers. Now that we think about it, we should have asked more questions about the band. But since she’s responsible for providing the soundtrack to TV shows like Grey’s Anatomy and The O.C., she helped us make the soundtrack to our lives instead.

The Republic Tigers

SYN: Pat in our office, who has never watched Gossip Girl put this together for you (note there are some plot flaws here): Blair and Nate on the roof of a building and now Blair is talking about her drunken grandmother who is not only mean and classist, but also once had a daughter who is Blairs mom and told her to eat an entire pie on Thanksgiving even though Blair used to have an eating disorder and suddenly Blair and Nate are back together(!) and Chuck Bass overhears all of this and the news breaks Chuck Bass heart and he skips town wearing a turtleneck and now theres a shot of the Queensborough Bridge! What song is playing in the background? (more…)

Slightly Stoopid Answer The Fan’s Questions

Saturday, October 6th, 2007

Slightly StoopidA few weeks back we asked of SLIGHTLY STOOPID fans to submit questions that would be asked of the band. So we put out an all points bulletin and got some questions for the band.

Here’s what they had to say when the fans asked.

When people listen to your music, what do you want them to walk away with?
RYMO: I want people to go away with a smile and a nice buzz. We are trying to spread good vibes and good fun. We play party music.
KYLE: Warm and fuzzy with an air humping feeling. I don’t know. (more…)

Monday, September 24th, 2007

Richard of EmigrateFor this IdioSYNcratic Routine, we caught up with Richard Z Kruspe, guitarist of longtime German rockers RAMMSTEIN. We caught him hot on the heels of the release of the amazing live DVD/CD Rammstein boxed set Volkerball and in the middle of launching the record for his side project EMIGRATE.

The first big launch of Emigrate will be the appearance of their song “My World” as the theme song to the new movie Resident Evil: Extinction which hits theaters this weekend. (more…)

IdioSYNcratic Routine | Andrew WK

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

Andrew WKGoing through our archive of 5 interview questions we used to do with people I unearthed this gem. It’s with the one and only ANDREW WK and it took place back in 2002, the time of the release of AWK’s album I Get Wet. Enjoy the jackassery.

Andrew WK has so many friends it can be hard to steal a minute of his time for frivolity much less sit down for a serious interview. We were able to combine a little of both worlds with this latest edition of The 5. Share in our joy as we learn about the color chart, proper body odor and
geography.

IdioSYNcratic Routine: Six.By Seven

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Six.By Seven’s Chris OlleyWe’ve been singing the praises of SIX.BY SEVEN on this blog for a while now and we’ve been fans for even longer. So you could imagine our pure joy when the leader of the band Chris Olley agreed to answer some of questions for this installment of IdioSYNcratic Routine.

Matt, Pat, Jon and Graham came up with the best totally random questions they could think of and the following is the result.

How do you feel today?
Tired

Does the “Sawn Off Metallica T-Shirt” actually exist? Any chance getting a picture of it?
