I’ve been pretty fanatical vocal about the new IDLEWILD releases due out late fall in the states. To celebrate the greatest hits DVD/CD and B-Sides and rarities albums, the band has also re-launched their website www.idlewild.co.uk to reflect the history of the band. Check it out.

There are some busy times coming up for IDLEWILD and their fans. Following their recent festival appearances at Connect and Truck, the band are about to release Scottish Fiction their first ever “Best Of” collection (including a 3 hour bonus DVD). The compilation will be released in October in the UK with a scheduled November release for us stateside.

In addtion to that the band is releaseing a digital only album of B-sides and hard-to-find tracks entitled A Distant History: Rarities 1997- 2007 will be available for download only beginning in October. (more…)

Scottish rockers, IDLEWILD are gearing up to release a best of / greatest hits album to celebrate their decade existance as a band.

The album Scottish Fiction – Best of 1997-2007 will have seventeen tracks spanning the band’s 10 years and studio albums beginning with Hope Is Important to the most recent, Make Another World.

In addition to the album of music, there will be a DVD.

The 17 track CD will come packaged with a DVD featuring a live concert filmed this year at the Aberdeen Music Hall, all the Idlewild videos and over an hour of unseen documentary footage filmed over the last twelve years. Three whole hours of Idlewild!

The album will also be available without the DVD for those mad enough not to want both.

The greatest hits will be in stores October 1 through Parlophone. The band will be touring the UK in support of the release. You can see the tracklisting after the jump. (more…)

We’re posting a lot about them here these days. Probably because we’re pretty damn excited about their new album Make Another World. So you can imagine how happy we were when we say that IDLEWILD’s new video for the track “No Emotion” made it’s way online. The album is due in stores this spring.

IDLEWILD are having a contest where you will win airfare and tickets to see the band perform live in Japan at the British Anthems Festival on March 3rd. To enter just got here and put in your information. To enter you must be 18 years old and have a valid passport. Their new album Make Another World is due out this spring via Sanctuary Records.

Okay so definitely check out the new video from Scottish rockers IDLEWILD. It’s for the track “If It Takes You Home” from their upcoming album, Make Another World the followup to 2005’s Warnings/Promises which is due out in the UK in February. There is no US release date yet but don’t let that stop you from rocking out to their new music.
