Last night I decided to stay in the office late and catch up on some work. By coincidence I also happened to have a ticket to see ROCKY VOTOLATO play around the corner at Maxwell’s. Since he had a later set it just made sense to get some work done.

So about 10 I rolled into the venue and immediately thought something was weird about the place. Maxwell’s usually has a pretty chill indie rocker/punk kid kinda vibe to it. I was immediately greeted by a woman at the bar who was seconds away from a serious wardrobe malfunction laughing in a higher pitch than I usually like, having a good time with her friends. Now I’ve seen attractive women like this at Maxwell’s before but the reason this resonated with me more was she wasn’t heavily tatooed and she seemed to have a lot of clones as I made my way back toward the back room where the stage was. Seattle’s ROCKY VOTOLATO is going to hit the road in a few days for an extensive Spring tour. This time around he’s brining a backing band with him. To aid our fearless singer/songwriter is alt country outfit DRAG THE RIVER. The plan is for DTR to open the night playing a set of their own music before Votolato joins them and wraps up the night.
