Dane Cook Breaks Records And Pwns Dave Chapelle

Sunday, January 6th, 2008

Dane Cook - Record BreakerAccording to Yahoo! News today, DANE COOK has set the new record in stand-up by telling jokes for 7 hours straight at the Laugh Factory. Dane stole the title from Dave Chapelle, who made the last record of 6 hours 12 minutes at the same club. It was such a long night, that Dane had food delivered for the audience to keep them “fed and happy.”

Will Chapelle try to beat him again? How long can a man stand up and tell jokes, and how long can an audience listen?

Is Dane just doing this to gain attention for the upcoming DVD release of Good Luck Chuck, which is out Jan 15th? (That’s the one with Jessica Alba and a ton of penguins.) Perhaps he’s more worried about the DVD release of Dan In Real Life in March? (That would be the one with Steve Carell. Yes, Dane has a nice selection of co-stars!)

Or maybe he really just wants to tell jokes ’til dawn. No matter the reason, he’s still the busiest man in comedy and if he can find time for 7 hour long sets, more power to him!

Ahh Technology, Remix The Dandy Warhols Then Make Them A Ringtone

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

Ring BlenderWe’ve already reported that THE DANDY WARHOLS have written the title track for the soundtrack to the Dane Cook / Jessica Alba movie Good Luck Chuck.

Now to the squeals of 14 year old around the country, the folks over at ringblender have posted a project that allows you to deconstruct the tune and then rebuild it however you want to make it a ringtone. Forcing us to ask the question if necessity is indeed the mother of invention. For 14 year olds know how to build ringtones yet are they the target demographic for The Dandy Warhols? Time will tell.

We Love Dane Cook

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

We have promoted the hell out of Dane Cook over the years. We’ve seen him grow from playing small shows at Caroline’s in NYC to selling out two shows in one night at the Fleet Center (or whatever the hell it’s called now) in Boston.

He’s been incredibly loyal to our company; keeping us involved in all he’s done and inviting us out to all of his shows. He’s gotten crap lately, basically because he’s popular and that’s what happens when you get popular. However, we love the dude and couldn’t be more proud to have been a part of his insane rise in popularity.

Today, we got a platinum plaque for his first record, “Harmful if Swallowed” and a double-platinum plaque for his recent record, “Retaliation.” Frankly, we’re proud of them and wanted to show em off. Check out some blatant self-congratulation after the jump.
