Devo Helps Make Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist

Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist could easily be the Juno of 2008. It has the makings of an indie comedy/romantic fun. Movie adaptation of a popular book, alterna-teens, and a great descriptions like - “Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist is a comedy about two teens thrust together for one hilarious, sleepless night of adventure in a world of mix tapes, late-night living, and, live, loud music.” How can we go wrong with that?

Michael Cera plays Nick, or the same character he always plays - a somewhat sweet and attractive, but overly awkward young Woody Allen type. Nick is a sensitive musician who finds a love interest in Norah (Kat Dennings). Norah plays life safe always, except for tonight of course when she cuts loose with Nick. (more…)

Band Of Horses | Terminal 5, NYC | 11.04.2007

BAND OF HORSES returned to New York City last night for their 3rd area show in the last two weeks, and they’ve never sounded better. The show took place at the brand new Terminal 5 venue on 56th street between 11th and 12th Ave. The big cave-like venue has a capacity around 3,000 and last night it was packed. All three levels filled with bearded (and un-bearded) hipster alike. The sound was solid (much better than when I saw The National there on opening night). (more…)

Band Of Horses

South Carolina’s BAND OF HORSES took the stage at McCarren Pool on Sunday in front of their largest NYC crowd to date, and blasted through the majority of last year’s Everything All The Time, as well as selections from the forthcoming Cease To Begin. (more…)
