Anti-Flag Release A Track About Corporate Rock And It’s Suckitude

Friday, September 28th, 2007

Anti-FlagANTI-FLAG are gearing up for a new studio album in the new year. However in the meantime they are about to drop an EP on us on October 2nd. The EP is a benefit for victims of violent crime.

Earlier today we got our first taste of that EP when they posted a track called “Corporate Rock Still Sucks” over at spin.com. It’s a 1:51 minute blast of punk with all the fury and politics we expect and love from Anti-Flag. If it’s any indication of what the new material sounds like, we are in for a great set of releases from them in the next few months.

Anti-Flag To Release Anti-Violence CD

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

ANTI-FLAG will be releasing an album this October to benefit victims of violent crime on their own A-F Records. It will be a limited edition pressing of new and live tracks. The band put the album together for a cause that hits close to home. Their bassist Chris #2 recently lost his sister to a violent crime.

Bassist Chris #2’s family experienced the horror of losing of family member when his sister fell victim to violent crime, leaving behind a young daughter and son. We all have our own gut reactions when faced with tragedy. Anti-Flag’s was to put together this limited edition benefit E.P. in hopes it would help others who have gone through similar situations. The proceeds will be going to the The Center for Victims of Violence and Crime (www.cvvc.org) as well as educational bonds. “A Benefit for Victims of Violent Crime” features five new Anti-Flag studio tracks along with five live songs recorded at Pittsburgh’s Mr. Smalls this past April.

Even more recently, he even popped his head into a recent ANTI-FLAG show at Irving Plaza and performed a song with the band. Together they covered Woodie Guthrie’s “This Land Is Your Land”.
