AGAINST ME! just posted a clip of our acoustic performance of their song “Ocean” at their Thanksgiving Day benefit show that they held in Chicago this past November. Enjoy.

The band also just announced that they will be one of the acts performing at Bonnaroo this year as well.

The March issue of Alternative Press has AGAINST ME! on the cover. It’s pretty damn awesome to see them rock the cover of AP for the first time and watch (especially Tom with the “dude ’stache”) getting their smirk on. If that was not enough, there are two covers for the March issue and it’s kinda fitting that TEGAN AND SARA are the other cover. Could this be because of the duet, “Borne On The FM Waves Of The Heart” that AM! did with Tegan on New Wave?

Here’s the third “official” video for the next single of the latest AGAINST ME! album New Wave. Shot in black and white and a decidely simple treament that totally works for the band. The film was directed by Justin Staggs a Minneapolis-based filmmaker who’s credits include NOFX, Smoke Or Fire, Strike Anywhere, and Lagwagon. And thanks to Matt at latenightwallflower we now know that Paddy Costello of The Dillinger Four is the talk show host in the clip.

Steak Mountain who’s art you may recognize from AGAINST ME!’s latest album singles and tour posters, has released a new collection inspired by the band’s latest album New Wave.

According to a post on Steak Mountain’s site, the shirts will soon be available for purchase together at the band’s cinderblock site. Right now, there are only a few up there. You can check out the first 5 designs of the collection here and the other 5 here.

AGAINST ME! have another video. Rather than going the dump-some-wine-on-us-while-we’re-rocking route of their last video, this is a collection of live clips from them on the road. Since the band is always on tour it 1) makes sense for a live clip video and 2) really gives you no excuse for you to miss them live. 2007 has been a pretty amazing year for the band and 2008 is shaping up to be just as kickass.

AGAINST ME! is looking to help the charity, Harvest Of Hope Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to raise money for migrant farm workers and their families. The band and foundation are currently working to help a 6 year old girl from Tifton, GA who needs a life-saving bone marrow transplant.

Last year, Diana Olalde was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, an aggressive cancer that makes white blood cells multiply and damage normal cells due to overcrowding. Olalde recieved chemotherapy, but relapsed in August 2007. Her doctors are saying the young girl needs a transplant within the next month and mounting medical bills and the costly proving to be something the family is unable to raise. Against Me! has urged people to to make a contribution to the over $500,000 in medical bills.

In a move that seemd to be one to put all the “dumb questions” they get asked on a daily basis to rest; AGAINST ME! thought it would be helpful if they answered them all at the same time for everyone. Beware big Alf!

During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN was asked what new music he was a fan of. He went on to mention how great “new” bands like AGAINST ME!, RISE AGAINST, and DROPKICK MURPHYS are.

The more we think about this, the more we think that a tour with Bruce and Against Me! might possibly be the biggest thing to happen in quite a long time. It officially gets our vote of “yes”. Now to make it happen…

So last night a bunch of us from the office gathered a posse and headed out to Williamsburg for the first ever show at the club formerly known as Northsix. Last night’s AGAINST ME! show was not supposed to be the hall’s inaugural show. Patti Smith the night before was to be but that show had to be re-scheduled to Thursday because the club had just not gotten all the audio/acoustic settings together yet. (more…)

AGAINST ME! described by David Letterman as a “popular rock band” performed “Stop” off their album New Wave on The Late Show earlier this week. Watch out for lead singer Tom Gabel winking to all the viewers out in TV land during a close up.

In other Against Me! news the band released an iTunes exclusive single for “Thrash Unreal” with two bonus tracks. The extra tracks are acoustic cuts of “New Wave” and “Animal”.
