What’s Up With Royal Bliss?

E-CARD: Royal Bliss

The origins of ROYAL BLISS start like any other normal band. Well, that’s if you classify struggles with addiction, car accidents, and lawsuits as “normal”.

This 5-piece came together in Salt Lake City during their college years, frontman Neal Middleton met guitarist Chris Harding in a pizza parlor. The two instantly connected and got together to rehearse the next day. By the end of that first day, they had 4 songs written and Middleton was dropping out of college to pursue his rock and roll dreams.

The duo combined two ideas they had in mind for band names “Royal Blue” and “Liquid Bliss” getting their current name of Royal Bliss. With a name and song they hit the road, building up an audience and loyal fanbase through years of constant touring and grinding the days out like road warriors.

The band began to catch the attenion of some major label reps when Middleton was in a near fatal car accident putting him in a wheelchar for months untill rehab got him walking again. The band picked up where they left off, headed into the studio when Harding got into a skiing accident, slicing his face open. Drummer Jake Smith also got into a car accident after heading home from the studio one night.

These life experiences were harnessed into the band’s independent album, After The Chaos II. Combining elements of classic rock and modern riffage. The album garnered the group rave reviews and put them on the road opening for many modern rock heavyweights. The band eventually signed with Capitol Music Group and recorded their first major label album, Life In-Between with Rob Daiker.

The album’s first single, somewhat appropriately titled, “Save Me” has a pretty hefty resonance attached to it. Perhaps because if it’s a success for the band, it might just save ‘em all.
