There are a few symbols and abbreviations in the Yahoo! Fantasy Spots league every manager should know. For example, a ‘x’ symbol next to a player right before game time is a helpful heads-up and means that player is not in the starting lineup. If caught in time, a manger could replace the player with someone on their bench so they don’t lose out on potential points for the day.

An abbreviation every manager knows but FEARS is ‘INF’. This is short for ‘infinite’ and it relates to a pitcher’s ERA and WHIP after they get SHELLACKED. Some of us in the office use INF as a figure of speech now. Unfortunately, a couple of us saw the INF this weekend on our fantasy leagues (ex. Dan with Eric Gagne and Elles with Joba Chamberlin yesterday afternoon). Here’s the recap on Week 3:

Pete’s has been locked on the #1 slot now for 3 weeks running and took a commanding 11 point lead this week. Elles, Jon and Dan are neck-and-neck for the 2, 3, 4 slots. Casey, Pat and Rich are all pretty close to one-another in 5, 6 and 7 positions. Last but not least, Marc and Tim are fighting it out for the 8 and 9 spot.

- Chipper Jones (3B) – MONSTER numbers. Hope he’s not hurt.

Beerfest Is On (Chris Elles)
- David Wright (3B) – Only 1 HR but 12/23. He’s heating up at the plate.

Mr Wraps (Jon Landman)
- Man-Ram (OF) –Manny being Manny means he has 4HRs and over .400 BA.

Cup Joint (Dan Rodriguez)
- Kevin Youkilis (1B, 3B) – We’re all surprised Dan “owns” a Red Sox player on his team being a passionate Yanks fan, but Youke hit .433 last week so it’s easy to forgive.

UO Phillies (Casey Landman)
- Edgar Renteria (SS) –

Detroit is finally hitting and this dude is in front with 3HRs and .370+ BA.

Ste-phan UrKel (Pat Shillenn)
- Chase Utley (2B) – 5 HRs (2 Sunday night) show signs of an NL MVP in the making.

Meat God Steals Home (Rich Schaefer)
- Derrick Jeter (SS) – The Jetarian comes back from being injured and immediately gets hot - .375+ BA and 8 RBIs.

Malibu Dinerz (Marc Meltzer)
- Derrick Lee (1B) – Huge numbers to start the season to lead the Cubs offensive juggernaut – 3HRs and .370+ BA.

Bacon Bitz (Tim Tatulli)
- Hanley Ramirez (SS) - Han-Ram has been helping in every category lately –3HRs, 8RBI and 3SBs. Very nice.
