SXSW Live Blog | Nada Surf Acoustic At Paste/Stereogum Party
A few of us here were treated to NADA SURF’s performance at the Paste / Stereogum party at Volume. One of the few appearances the band will be doing at the festival, this marks the only official acoustic performance here.
In between songs, anxious fans shouted out their favorites, with the band all too happy to oblige – even joking before one “how does this one go?” Among the throngs of fans seen here – Jonah Matranga, known for his work in bands Far, Gratitude, New End Original and Onelinedrawing.
Standouts included versions of “Happy Kid” and set closer “See These Bones.” I’ll stop you before you ask – no, the band didn’t do an acoustic version of “Popular.”
With four professional cameras trained on the band during the entire set, one can only hope the performance makes it online or as a part of additional bonus features to an upcoming CD or even full DVD!
