SXSW Live Blog | Keeping Up With The Joneses!
posted by Jon on March 14th, 2008 in Carbon/Silicon, Live Blogging, SXSW 2008, The ClashI was interviewed by a corporation yesterday answering questions of “Why is it important to be at SXSW?” I couldn’t use the following answers: Beer, BBQ, Booze, etc. I did manage to stumble my way through the questions, but last night that simple question of “Why is it important to be at SXSW” was answered! I had dinner and drinks with Mick Jones of The Clash! (And of course Big Audio Dynamite & Carbon/Silicon). He mumbled some stuff at me, I nodded and just kept thinking – MICK JONES!
Also last night, My Morning Jacket gave me another great reason to attend SXSW! The band is amazing live and they ran through some classics and also sprinkled in some new jams (the album is fantastic) as well.
We finished the marathon night by catching some of Carbon/Silicon, The Old 97’s and then Jon Reis aka Rocket From The Crypt’s “Speedo” new band The Night Marchers. Imagine a little slower version of Rocket with really strong songs and Reis looks amazing!
