The Gaslight Anthem

Anyone who reads this blog with any consistency knows it’s no secret we’re big fans of THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM. Their popularity seems to have swelled a lot in 2007. Mostly because of an amazing debut record, Sink Or Swim and some high profile tours.

2008 is shaping up to be an even better year for the band. They have a new EP due out in just days in addition to a tour with the Loved Ones. Well it looks like we can add new record label to that list.

The Gaslight Anthem have inked a deal with SideOneDummy records. Here’s what the label said about the signing.

What is now become the worst keep secret in the punk rock world… SideOneDummy Records is proud to announce that The Gaslight Anthem from New Brunswick, NJ have officially joined our roster. The band’s first full-length release for the label will be released by early Fall, produced by Ted Hutt (Chuck Ragan, Flogging Molly, Street Dogs, Bouncing Souls).

The band recently put out a 4-song EP (SENOR AND THE QUEEN, on Sabot Recordings) that has received an immediate and hugely positive response from fans and press alike. Without gimmicks or pretensions, and thanks to relentless touring, exuberant performances and accomplished songwriting, The Gaslight Anthem has generated a striking amount of attention. Their plans for 2008 promise only to increase their visibility, thanks to a packed touring schedule and their full-length release on SideOneDummy later this year.
