A few things about the rain…walking in it isn’t fun. Neither is moving furniture in it. Hydroplaning on it while moving said furniture strapped to your car making it’s nicely constructed cardboard box soaking wet isn’t the best either.
Those were events that took place BEFORE rolling out to Joe’s Pub to see VIRGINIA COALITION play a set to a packed crowd of people. All of whom were there to see the band run through an hour-long set of their trademark jams that have the uncanny effect of making people dance along.
Watching the quartet deliver songs new and old in a relaxed environment was what was needed upon getting out of the messy night. Then again, we might have been a bit spoiled, after all, our table was so close to the stage we were in the way of the bongos. But it also allowed us to snap a few snazzy pics.
The band posted the first single from their upcoming album Home This Year on their myspace page. The track is called “Sing Along” and the album is due out on March 18th via Bluhammock Records.
