Jason Bateman Really Gets Our Hopes Up By Igniting More Rumors Of Arrested Development Movie

Jason BatemanOne of our favorite TV shows in the office is the brilliant but cancelled Arrested Development. It seems many of us could quote our favorite parts from any of the episodes in the three short seasons it was on the air. Because of this it took us a while to come to grips with the show’s cancellation. We’ve purchased the show on DVD and lost countless hours watching the bonus features.

But now that we’ve properly been able to put the show to rest there are new rumors abound that the show has a glimmer of hope, but in film form…

In an interview with MTV, AD star Jason Bateman stated that he recently had a phone conversation with the show’s creator, Mitchell Hurowitz and Bateman had been lobbying hard for Hurowitz to start collecting thoughts to bring the show to the movie screens.

Bateman stated that Hurowitz is “slowly coming around” and that the idea is not “dead in the water”. Since current striking writers are not allowed to work on anything they are being paid for, Bateman is pushing Hurowitz to revisit the Bluth family in his down time. Add onto this the fact that other AD star Michael Cera is having a red hot year with the breakout hit Superbad and current buzzworthy film Juno (which also stars Bateman). There just might be more of a demand for Michael, Gob, George Michael, Tobias, Maeby, Lucille, George, Lindsay and Buster than when the last episode of the show aired some 22 months ago.

Don’t believe us? Here’s the word from Bateman himself.

Tobias: “I just Blue myself!”
Michael: “Yeah, there’s got to be a better way to say that.”
