During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN was asked what new music he was a fan of. He went on to mention how great “new” bands like AGAINST ME!, RISE AGAINST, and DROPKICK MURPHYS are.

The more we think about this, the more we think that a tour with Bruce and Against Me! might possibly be the biggest thing to happen in quite a long time. It officially gets our vote of “yes”. Now to make it happen…
An open letter to Bruce Springsteen after the jump.
Mr. Springsteen,
How are you doing? You seem well. I love the new record! “Girls In Their Summer Clothes” is a terrific song, I sing it every time hear it played in the office (which is a lot). I also thoroughly enjoyed your rant a few weeks ago on the today show.
Anyway, down to the subject at hand. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, you had mentioned an affinity for the Florida punk band Against Me! Me too! They are an amazing band and deserve every piece of credit they get. Anyone that reads this blog (www.thesyn.com/blog) knows that we are super fans and have been for a long time.
So Bruce, being that you control the musical universe, I’m humbly asking you to take Against Me! out on the road with you for a tour. Nothing major, perhaps just a small club tour? Small rooms, like 1,000 seaters. You guys would rock the place! Seriously! Think about it, the walls would sweat, the fans would go apeshit! Hell, you could even have a drum-off between Max in your band and Warren in AM! I’m sure that they would totally enjoy that. Your mix of lyrical wordplay and killer songs would make people’s mind’s explode in no time.
If bringing the E-Street band along is too much a hassle (and I hope it’s not) have AM! act as your backing band. You recently did a duet with the Arcade Fire this way. How about you and Tom do “Borne On The FM Waves Of The Heart” together? That’s a duet song. If you would rather do a duet of one of your songs, might I suggest performing “Dancing In The Dark”? You could pull James up on stage and dance with you just like you did with one Courtney Cox. This would effectively make AM! a household name, similar to the way you did with the former friend. There are many ideas I have for this tour and can share them at length if you feel the need to do so. But frankly Bruce, this is something you and AM! could creatively handle without this blogger’s assistance. You are pros at this.
So Bruce, the only question we have is please, please, please can we get a tour between you and AGAINST ME! to happen? I can guarantee there are at lease 15 people in my small Jersey office alone that would go to at least the Philly, Jersey, NYC, and Boston legs of the dates. And at the ticket price of say $30 - $50 a piece, you are already looking enough profit to at least maybe cover the catering for those shows.
I think we’re on to something here Mr. Springsteen.
Up the punks,
Matt Kleinschmidt

you add Lucero onto that tour, and I can die happy

Can’t forget The Hold Steady either.
Kid Rock on lead guitar for all bands playing, just for Jon
