Rhett Miller | Blue Note, NYC | 9.20.2007
Friday, September 21st, 2007
The Blue Note club doesn’t allow any photography (Not even with camera phones), so I decided not to risk being tossed out of the early show last night. Part of this was my fear of authority and part was that the seating is so packed, I couldn’t even reach into my pocket to pull the actual camera out. So instead of a kick-ass picture of RHETT MILLER on stage, I managed a goofy picture of ASCAP’s Tom DeSavia. (more…)
Tokyo Police Club To Continue Their Reign Of Greatness With New EP In November
Thursday, September 20th, 2007
About 3 months ago it was impossible for one of us to stop singing TOKYO POLICE CLUB’s song “Your English Is Good”. It’s the perfect mix of catchy and awesome for realzies! Listen here if you don’t believe us.
It was not long after that they signed to Saddle Creek records and announced they will be recording a new LP in the not too distant future. That LP would act as the follow-up to their criminally awesome EP Lesson In Crime
While we’ll have to wait on a full album for just bit longer, the band just announced their plans on putting out a B-sides EP, titled Smith on November 6th. The release will again be on Paper Bag records, the label responsible for their previous EP and home before Saddle Creek.
A tracklisting for Smith has been revealed and along with 4 songs, the album will contain 3 videos. Tracklisting and fall tour dates (opening for Bloc Party) after the jump. (more…)

Thursday, September 20th, 2007The new album by PLASTISCINES has been getting some great rotation within the walls of The Syndicate’s radio department. The fun blend of French pop and good old fashioned garage rock. The ladies just filmed a video for their single “Loser” recently and we couldn’t wait to share it so we aren’t!
Hoots And Hellmouth Drop By The Syndicate Offices For Impromptu Show
Thursday, September 20th, 2007
So it happened again, I was minding my own business and blam! All of a sudden a band is in the office ready to play live music for us. I know what you are thinking, “Boy Matt it’s really a bummer when bands roll into the office to play for you allowing to kill work time.” I know! It’s tough, but forging on is the only way I know how to cope with it. (more…)

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007
THE HOLD STEADY headlined the first of 3 shows at 7 World Trade Center this week with ILLINOIS and THE OLD 97’s supporting. The Hold Steady put on an incredibly energetic and heartfelt set, that had the whole crowd rocking out, including some of the confused buisnessmen (and women) who were leaving their office for the night and found themselves in the middle of a rock concert. Last nights 7WTC had M. WARD headlining and tonight’s features NICK LOWE. You can find out more info at musicdowntown.org

Ryan Adams To Release EP, Tour His Ass Off
Tuesday, September 18th, 2007
RYAN ADAMS is no stranger to having years with multiple releases. So he’s making 2007 no different. However, rather than putting out 3 full studio albums and a ton of tracks on his website. He’s decided to trim it down to just an EP to follow up his earlier 2007 release Easy Tiger.
The new EP, Follow The Lights will be seven songs comprised of both new and old material some of which he and his band The Cardinals recorded live in the studio this summer.
Two of the new tracks “Follow The Lights” and “My Love For You Is Real” will be featured on the new season of the ABC show October Road. The new season of the show does not start until November 26th but Adams’ music will be featured in all bumpers and ads leading up to the show’s season premiere.
Tracklisting and tour dates can be seen after the jump. (more…)

Spiritualized Wrap Up New Album
Tuesday, September 18th, 2007
SPIRITUALIZED has announced its new album is done and ready to melt the faces of the public. We’ve been waiting so eagerly (maybe desparately) for a follow-up album to 2003’s Amazing Grace.
That 4-year time period has been a bit of a rough one for band mastermind Jason Pierce (aka J. Spaceman) who fell ill, was hospitalized and went through a pretty lengthy recovery. But it seems that is all past us!
Though the new record is not yet titled, nor will it be out in 2007 you can color us officially stoked! Especially since Pierce described the new record as “the work of the Devil…with a little guidance from me.”
