We’re Getting A Q-Tip Album In 2007!

Q-TipGrowing up we’ve spent many a days listening to A TRIBE CALLED QUEST mainly because we couldn’t get over how amazing Q-TIP’s voice was.

Since the band broke up Mr. Tip has since released a solo album in 1999 of booty shakin’ jams called Amplified with such jams as “Breath & Stop”, and “Vivrant Thing”.

Then came Kamaal The Abstract in 2002, and album that seemed to get shelved merely days before it’s release on Arista records. Some say because of lack of commercial appeal, others due to the label folding around the same time. Songs had made it out there in the world, for those that got to give them a listen would have heard a more mature Q-Tip going in the range of a more soulful sound with live instrumentation over his trademark smooth hip-hop.

Now Q-Tip will officially be able to release a proper follow-up called The Renaissance via Universal Motown records in the fall 2007. The album will feature cameos from Common, Andre 3000 and D’Angelo. The good news is that even though there is no street date, in celebration of our Independence a track from the album has been put out there in the blogosphere. The track is called “WorkItOut”. Prepare to get your rump shake on.
