MP3: The Killers | “Shadowplay”

posted by Matt on April 30th, 2007 in Joy Division, Mp3, Music, News, The Killers

The KillersIt’s been reported for a while now that THE KILLERS were going to cover the Joy Division song, “Shadowplay” for the soundtrack to an upcoming Ian Curtis/Joy Division biopic.

We think it’s safe to say that The Killers covering a Joy Division song more than makes sense. The band got their name from a New Order video as well as sonically, they owe a bit of their sound to the groundbreaking British band.

Well we may have to still wait a bit longer for the movie but the song has made its way online. Check it out now!

The Killers played this cover at The Fox Theater in Detroit on May 9. This was quite possibly the best song of the night! The strobe light effects had me seeing colors throughout the next song!

I just heard this song last night at the Killers hometown Las Vegas show. I didn’t know it was Joy Division but I knew it was great and I had to track it down. Thanks to whoever posted this mp3 and whoever posted the link to this website on the SongMeanings website.

I love Joy Division and normally I get scared when bands try and cover great songs, but the Killers pulled it off. I don’t know what the hell is going on, but covers are showign up everywhere. I like a lot of the covers off the new Dylan movie soundtrack and the Go Station did a great cover of the Joy Division branch off New Order’s song “True Faith”. This Killers songs kicks ass though
