Tenacious D, The Best In Bluegrass
posted by Matt on February 27th, 2007 in Music, Tenacious D
Every time I listen to TENACIOUS D’s music I think to myself, “How can this album be anymore awesomer?”. And then in my lack of a creative sprit, I get no further than that thought. It’s a really good thing that there are people out that that aren’t as limited as I, for the world would never have the record, Bluegrass Wrecks the Music of Tenacious D: This Is Just a Tribute. And what a sad world it would be if this album never existed.
On the album, the band Dust Bowl Cavaliers tear through the baddest of the badass tracks on The D’s album adding their bluegrass tones along the way. Check out snippets of the songs yourself but don’t saw we didn’t warn you of it’s awesomeness.

Also, no, they cannot be any more awesomer. They are the awesomest, they are awesomenacity itself.
hahah.
Awesomnity!
Bluegrass + Tenacious D = some downright toe tappin’, boot stompin madness destined for greatness.
Thanks for the post….
I’ll have to check that out.
I have always known it but you put it into words
Fuck Her Gently may just be the greatest song in the world … maybe that’s what Tribute is about …..
Well, it’s definitely Tenacious D. Good bluegrass?
You might want to check out the Seldom Scene and their versions of J. J. Cale tunes. If you want real bluegrass, check out Ricky Skaggs’ work over the past five years or so, especially “Big Mon,” the tribute to Bill Monroe.
Don’t get me wrong: The band that does the work isn’t bad. I kept expecting to hear David Seville start chastising the Chipmunks, though.
