21-year-old Boston Street Syndicate Captain Joseph Pepin lives a busy life. Besides working with the Street Syndicate he also runs his own company, Mix Tape Management.

He started the company last May when two groups approached him in need of management. Those groups who are still on the Mix Tape roster (and feature members who are also Street Synners) are The Peasantry and Dear Ulysses.

Since the bands have signed to Mix Tape they have begun to make headway in the Boston music scene. Both Dear Ulysses and The Peasantry performed at this years NEMO Music Festival in Boston. The Peasantry recently received over 2 million plays on Break-Thru Internet Radio and is about to embark on an East Coast tour featuring Dear Ulysses and Vie Perdu.

How’s everybody doing over the holiday break? I’ve rocked the hell out of Viva Piñata and Gears of War on my Xbox. Waiting til Tuesday to throw some of my old vinyl on eBay and make back some of my gift-giving cash. Coalesce vs. Get Up Kids spit 7″ anyone? Yeah, right, like I’d part with that. I spent a few days in Atlantic City where I won around $100 at the Blackjack tables, then lost it all on the last day. Last Sunday saw 70 degree temperatures on the boardwalk! In Mid-December! It was such a strange feeling basking in the sun at this time of year in a T-Shirt, watching women walk around in tank-tops. This isn’t Miami! I’m scared shitless people…scared shitless…

Anyway, it’s occurred to me that I haven’t posted my personal Top 10 Favorite Records of 2006. Next week I’ll post my personal most anticipated of ‘07.

Back in September, my roommate and I joined up with the SSE group to take part in a cancer walk in NYC. SSE, which stands for The Syrentha Savio Endowment is an amazing organization that has been fighting cancer with equally amazing programs for a while now.  One of their larger programs, Shirts for a Cure, prints shirts with exclusive designs from TONS of bands in the world that is Warped. Anyone not catch Saturday Night Live last night with host (and musical guest) Justin Timberlake? Now I can’t claim to be a JT fan but the guy definitely didn’t take himself too seriously.
